Candace M. Zynda- "Contemporary Photographer specializing in pet photography." Although seemingly a new trend in modern society, pet photography has become a most sought after realm of portrait photography. Candace’s spin on portrait photography falls into place with the pet loving population’s desire to include the pet part of the family into aspects of home life not thought of or accepted in earlier years.
What is a "Pet Photographer?"
Specializing in traditionally influenced contemporary photography of non-human (pet) subjects. Although a relatively new heading in the photography field, pet photography and pet portraiture have become increasingly popular in modern society. The desire and acceptance of having a non-human companion in one’s life have become so accepted in 20th and 21st century living that this field was essentially born as an offspring to traditional portrait photography. The inability and non-acceptence of traditional photography studios to meet the needs of pet + family households created a need for alternate situations to accommodate. Although not a new theory to include animals in families or as family members in some respect, the idea alone of introducing pets into traditional family’s structure, is so defining as to include such member(s) in portraits and holiday greeting cards. And also, creating families of single persons who have guardianship of one (or multiple) animal companions in their households creating otherwise non-traditional “family” structures. These single and childless, non-traditional families have quite similar desire for “family & children’s portraits” as the traditional family in earlier times. Upholding most similar standards in photographic portraiture; pet photographers and pet portrait artist’s generate the same quality in standards for portrait photography. The main difference being that their studio(s) are capable and equipped to function with the presence of non-human subjects.
